Engineering Manager

British American Tobacco (BAT) Kenya is hiring an Engineering Manager for their Operations function in Nairobi. BAT is a leading global company evolving and transforming their business.

Role Overview:

• – Manage the Nairobi factory facilities, infrastructure, and engineering activities cost-effectively
• – Oversee contractor companies providing facility-related services
• – Lead project management for CAPEX, infrastructure and utility projects
• – Enforce EHS standards and ensure ISO compliance across areas of responsibility
• – Develop and implement procedures, policies and long-term master plans
• – Participate in cross-functional initiatives to mitigate operational risks
• – Support and achieve strategic plans and objectives for the Operations function

Requirements:

• – B.Eng. in Mechanical, Industrial or Process Engineering OR B.Tech diploma
• – 5-6 years of engineering experience
• – Project management experience/certification preferred
• – Systems and IT skills (MS Office, SAP – Timekeeping, SRM etc.)
• – Knowledge of IWS standards and qualifications
• – Strong communication, problem-solving and prioritization abilities
• – People leadership and strategic management skills
• – Understanding of EHS regulations and standards
• – Excellent interpersonal skills with attention to detail

Key Responsibilities:

• – Manage facilities, infrastructure, contractors and CAPEX projects

• – Build long-term master plans and align with stakeholders
• – Lead Integrated Work System (IWS) pillar, ensure qualifications
