Job Description
The Fashion & Interior Design Trainer will deliver engaging, practical lessons in fashion design, textile manipulation, pattern drafting, color theory, interior styling, and design fundamentals. The trainer will also mentor students through design projects, portfolio development, and skill-building exercises aligned with current industry standards.
This role is ideal for candidates who possess both academic teaching ability and real-world design experience. You’ll be instrumental in shaping the creative confidence of young designers, helping them express their ideas professionally through garments, interior layouts, and visual storytelling. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver comprehensive lessons in fashion design, garment construction, and interior decoration techniques.
- Facilitate hands-on studio sessions that encourage student creativity and practical skill acquisition.
- Introduce students to design software, sketching techniques, color theory, and current trends in fashion and interior design.
- Assess student performance through class participation, portfolio submissions, exams, and project-based learning.
- Mentor students on project development, from ideation to final presentation.
- Maintain and organize classroom and studio environments to ensure safety, accessibility, and creative inspiration.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of design programs.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Fashion Design, Interior Design, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
- Diploma in Technical Education or Pedagogy certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching or training experience in a design school, college, or creative workshop setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Interior Design, or a related creative discipline (highly encouraged).
- Experience working with design software such as Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, or SketchUp.
- Experience in interior design implementation is a strong advantage.
- Understanding of both modern and traditional design techniques and materials.
- Strong portfolio of design or styling projects (personal or professional).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially when working with creative learners.
