Job Description

As a Field Sales Executive – Upcountry, you will be responsible for acquiring and growing new customers across Kenya’s upcountry regions. Through face-to-face client interactions, you will provide tailored logistics solutions, strengthen client relationships, and drive sales growth across DHL’s product and service offerings. You will serve as a key point of contact, ensuring customer satisfaction and promoting DHL’s commitment to service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new business by conducting personal sales visits and identifying growth opportunities across upcountry regions
  • Convert qualified leads into loyal customers by presenting DHL’s value proposition
  • Develop and maintain a monthly customer call cycle to manage new and existing accounts
  • Act as the primary liaison between customers and internal DHL departments to address service needs or concerns
  • Negotiate rates, volume discounts, and value-added services based on company guidelines
  • Build lasting partnerships and manage customer retention through consistent follow-ups and excellent service delivery

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of proven sales experience, preferably in logistics, FMCG, or B2B services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel frequently within upcountry regions

Preferred Competencies

  • Commercial awareness and understanding of sales cycles
  • Knowledge of DHL’s global logistics network and service portfolio (desirable but not mandatory)
  • Strong business acumen and decision-making ability during negotiations
  • Excellent planning and time management skills
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on long-term relationship building
