Job Description

This Food Services Supervisor (Bar Supervisor) role plays a vital part in maintaining and enhancing the guest experience within the bar and dining service operations. The successful candidate will oversee front-line staff performance, ensure all operational standards are upheld, and drive a collaborative, service-focused environment. As one of the most visible roles in food and beverage operations, the Food Services Supervisor will ensure smooth coordination between team members and actively support staff development while maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction and adherence to health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the food and beverage service team to deliver exceptional service standards aligned with the JW Marriott brand.
• Ensure effective team coordination and foster a spirit of collaboration to meet service goals and exceed guest expectations.
• Conduct daily briefings, monitor staff grooming and professionalism, and rectify any non-compliance.
• Oversee opening and closing procedures, including setup, cleaning, securing storage areas, and inventory control.
• Monitor the bar and dining areas for cleanliness, seating availability, and guest safety and comfort.
• Requisition and manage supplies using FIFO practices and maintain organized, sanitary storage spaces.
• Assist with staff training, scheduling, performance evaluation, coaching, and implementing disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Act as a key point of contact in addressing employee concerns and supporting Marriott’s Open Door Policy and Guarantee of Fair Treatment process.
• Report maintenance issues promptly and ensure all equipment is operational and well-maintained.
• Promote safety and adhere to all hotel health and safety protocols, including attending required safety trainings.
• Ensure all interactions with guests are welcoming, professional, and in line with Marriott service standards.
• Perform additional reasonable duties as assigned by management in support of departmental goals.

Required Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Food & Beverage Service or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in food and beverage operations or a similar hospitality environment.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory role within a bar or dining service team.
• Demonstrated knowledge of hygiene standards and safety practices in hospitality operations.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to guide and inspire a diverse team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a luxury hospitality brand or international hotel chain.
• Additional training in leadership, conflict resolution, or customer service management.
• Familiarity with POS systems, inventory control tools, and scheduling software.
• Ability to speak multiple languages is an added advantage.
