The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction is seeking a GEDSI-Sensitive DRR Expert to design and deliver a National GEDSI DRR Strategy for Rwanda. This role involves collaboration with UN Women and MINEMA to operationalize gender-sensitive disaster risk assessments and align them with national policies. The consultant will conduct multi-stakeholder consultations, draft an inclusive strategy, and develop a costed implementation plan. The position is home-based and requires strong expertise in disaster risk management and gender-responsive methodologies.

Candidate Requirements:

• Master’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
• 5 years of experience in national-level strategic policies in DRR or climate change
• Technical expertise in GEDSI methodologies in water management
• Understanding of water-climate nexus and inclusive EWS
• Experience with UN agencies and national ministries in Sub-Saharan Africa
• Fluency in English; French is desirable
