Head of Production

APDK, a leading Kenyan NGO dedicated to improving the lives of persons with disabilities, is hiring a Head of Production for their Likoni Furniture branch. This key role will oversee production processes and coordinate activities to meet strategic objectives aligned with the organization’s goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Management

• – Oversee all aspects of furniture production, including planning, scheduling, and quality control
• – Develop and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and meet production targets
• – Maintain and enforce safety and quality standards

2. Strategic Leadership

• – Collaborate with CEO, Coast Region Manager, and other department heads to create and communicate facility strategy
• – Ensure timely dissemination of business priorities and targets to facility staff
• – Lead in building a strong sales and marketing management culture within the operations team

3. Team Development

• – Coach facility staff, identifying skills and opportunities for development
• – Provide advice and guidance to program managers and relevant facility staff

4. Stakeholder Management

• – Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure material availability
• – Manage relationships and agreements with external partners/vendors in consultation with Regional Manager and CEO

Requirements:

• – Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related course or Project Management (Master’s Degree preferred)
• – Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior management role, with team leadership experience
• – Strong background in operations management
• – Passion for creating high-quality products with positive impact on clientele
