Job Description

The Manager, Management Accounting will oversee the formulation, monitoring, and reporting of KAA’s corporate budget. The successful candidate will lead strategic financial planning, manage corporate performance metrics, and support leadership through financial analysis and cost evaluation. This position requires an individual with deep financial acumen, ERP proficiency, and the ability to align fiscal policy with the Authority’s strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of KAA’s annual consolidated budget
  • Analyze financial data to provide forecasts, insights, and performance reports for informed decision-making
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and assess associated financial risks
  • Support strategic planning through detailed business performance analysis and reporting
  • Monitor budget consumption, cash flow trends, and recommend corrective financial strategies
  • Guide management on optimal pricing strategies and cost-saving initiatives
  • Oversee financial viability reviews of new projects and programs
  • Develop and maintain forecasting models for short, medium, and long-term planning
  • Review and authorize high-value payments in line with KAA’s financial procedures
  • Establish and enforce management accounting policies and internal controls

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent qualification from a recognized university
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Membership in ICPAK or a recognized professional accounting body in good standing
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience, including at least three (3) years in a senior supervisory or managerial role
  • Completed a management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks
  • Proficiency in computerized financial environments and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems

Preferred Skills and Competencies

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Experience in risk management and financial reporting
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Ability to produce accurate reports under tight deadlines
  • Team player with strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities
  • High attention to detail and ethical integrity

  • Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
  • Report from a registered Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
