Manufacturing Apprentice

British American Tobacco (BAT) Kenya is hiring for their 24-month Manufacturing Apprenticeship Program in Nairobi. BAT is a leading global company dedicated to innovation and transforming their business.

Apprenticeship Overview:

• – Get an overview of Operations functions
• – Learn to operate machines like Cigarette Maker, Packer or Filter Maker
• – Receive training on machine settings, maintenance and quality parameters
• – Work on projects with cross-functional teams under guidance
• – Opportunity to build new solutions and market development skills

Key Responsibilities:

• – Operate assigned machines efficiently to achieve production targets
• – Monitor product quality per specifications and maintain records
• – Ensure workplace cleanliness, safety and proper 5S housekeeping
• – Participate in maintenance activities as part of training
• – Perform cleaning, inspection and lubrication tasks per checklists
• – Accurately capture data on machine cards, checklists etc.
• – Learn optimal usage of running spares and consumables
• – Actively engage in team meetings and follow-up actions

Requirements:

• – Ordinary National Diploma in Engineering
• – Prior manufacturing experience is an advantage
• – Good communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork
