Job Description
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Accord East Africa will serve as a scientific resource and key liaison between Pfizer and healthcare professionals (HCPs). The role requires a strong understanding of relevant therapeutic areas, Pfizer’s portfolio of medicines, and real-world data to support medical engagement and informed clinical decision-making.
As an MSL, you will be expected to execute Pfizer’s field medical strategies and foster long-term partnerships with external stakeholders including key opinion leaders, regulatory authorities, and medical societies. You will play a vital role in enhancing patient outcomes by facilitating access to scientific knowledge and evidence-based medicine across East Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute field medical strategies aligned with Pfizer Medical Affairs priorities within the assigned therapeutic area (TA).
- Provide education on Pfizer medicines and their clinical implications to support informed HCP decision-making.
- Deliver accurate and approved medical content through presentations, 1:1 meetings, and digital platforms.
- Act as a conduit for customer insights, sharing relevant feedback internally to influence medical and strategic decisions.
- Engage key stakeholders through scientific collaboration and customer-specific medical projects.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of therapeutic area trends, latest research, and scientific congress updates.
- Support non-interventional studies and Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) as appropriate.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with internal teams, including Medical Information, Regulatory, Legal, and Compliance.
- Optimize the patient-centric approach in all communications and deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Medicine or Pharmacy.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in a medical or commercial role.
- Strong understanding of local healthcare regulations and industry codes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience working within a matrixed, cross-functional team.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and adapt to dynamic environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in the relevant therapeutic area (TA).
- Familiarity with medical data interpretation, real-world evidence, and non-interventional study support.
- Proficiency in digital tools for remote scientific engagement and documentation.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
