National Head of Programs

APDK, a leading Kenyan NGO dedicated to enhancing the lives of persons with disabilities, is hiring a National Head of Programs. This pivotal role will collaborate with the CEO to coordinate nationwide programs in partnership with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning

• – Develop and align program strategies with APDK’s objectives
• – Create and implement annual work plans and budgets
• – Drive programmatic efficiency and resource allocation
• – Identify funding opportunities and develop strategic proposals

2. Reporting and Analysis

• – Generate comprehensive program reports with qualitative and quantitative data
• – Prepare donor reports in collaboration with the Head of Finance
• – Analyze reports to inform strategic planning and program implementation

3. Field Supervision and Support

• – Conduct quarterly branch reviews and regular on-site visits
• – Provide oversight and guidance to program staff
• – Ensure adherence to organizational policies and regulations

4. Networking and Collaboration

• – Foster relationships with stakeholders and market APDK’s services
• – Cultivate donor relationships and secure ongoing program support
• – Ensure timely fulfillment of donor requirements
• – Communicate key developments to CEO and seek approval for major decisions

Requirements:

• – Master’s Degree in Project Management or related field (e.g., Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Health, Business Administration)
• – Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position, preferably with an NGO
• – Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• – Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• – Proven track record of integrity and strong business acumen
• – Leadership and teamwork skills
• – Commitment to APDK’s mandate, mission, vision, and values

Preferred Qualification:

• – Post-graduate diploma in Rehabilitation Services
