APDK, a leading Kenyan NGO dedicated to enhancing the lives of persons with disabilities, is hiring a National Head of Programs. This pivotal role will collaborate with the CEO to coordinate nationwide programs in partnership with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning
- – Develop and align program strategies with APDK’s objectives
- – Create and implement annual work plans and budgets
- – Drive programmatic efficiency and resource allocation
- – Identify funding opportunities and develop strategic proposals
2. Reporting and Analysis
- – Generate comprehensive program reports with qualitative and quantitative data
- – Prepare donor reports in collaboration with the Head of Finance
- – Analyze reports to inform strategic planning and program implementation
3. Field Supervision and Support
- – Conduct quarterly branch reviews and regular on-site visits
- – Provide oversight and guidance to program staff
- – Ensure adherence to organizational policies and regulations
4. Networking and Collaboration
- – Foster relationships with stakeholders and market APDK’s services
- – Cultivate donor relationships and secure ongoing program support
- – Ensure timely fulfillment of donor requirements
- – Communicate key developments to CEO and seek approval for major decisions
Requirements:
- – Master’s Degree in Project Management or related field (e.g., Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Health, Business Administration)
- – Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position, preferably with an NGO
- – Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- – Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- – Proven track record of integrity and strong business acumen
- – Leadership and teamwork skills
- – Commitment to APDK’s mandate, mission, vision, and values
Preferred Qualification:
- – Post-graduate diploma in Rehabilitation Services
