Job Description

The Industrial Attachment Programme is designed to equip students with practical knowledge aligned to their academic pathways. Trainees will be placed within relevant KRA departments based on their area of study, where they will gain exposure to real-world tasks, administrative workflows, professional etiquette, and public service operations.

This attachment opportunity supports the Government’s Youth Talent Development Initiative and aims to create a strong pipeline of future professionals who understand public sector operations, digital revenue systems, data-driven decision-making, and administrative excellence.

Participants will work under supervision of departmental officers, receive structured guidance, and contribute to ongoing tasks that support departmental goals.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities vary depending on placement, but may include:

  • Supporting departmental operations within finance, ICT, human resources, communications, engineering, supply chain, or technical units.
  • Participating in data entry, data analysis, research, and documentation activities.
  • Assisting in administrative functions, filing, records management, and digitization initiatives.
  • Shadowing supervisors to understand work processes, reporting structures, and departmental functions.
  • Supporting ICT and systems teams with troubleshooting, updates, and digital workflows (where applicable).
  • Assisting in customer support functions, inquiries handling, and departmental coordination.
  • Contributing to ongoing projects, improvement initiatives, and organizational assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a Kenyan citizen aged below 35 years.
  • Must be a continuing undergraduate student (3rd, 4th, or final year) or a final-year diploma student.
  • Must be studying in a recognized and accredited university or college.
  • Must have an official introduction letter from the institution requesting the attachment placement.
  • Must be available on a full-time basis for the 3-month attachment period (January–March 2026).
