Role Summary – Clinical Nutritionist Job in Nairobi

As a key member of our clinical team, you’ll support patients by offering tailored dietary plans, educating them on healthy lifestyle practices, and working closely with other medical staff to coordinate care. Your role will directly contribute to the success of our health and nutrition services in Kenya.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct personalized nutritional counseling and guide patients on therapeutic diets for conditions like diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and kidney failure.
• Coordinate all phases of nutritional care including assessments, screenings, care plans, education, and ongoing monitoring.
• Work with doctors and nurses to align nutritional plans with medical treatment goals.
• Develop and adjust diet plans based on each patient’s physical and medical condition.
• Educate patients and their families on proper food selection, meal preparation, and lifestyle changes.
• Maintain detailed records, evaluate patient progress, and adjust care plans accordingly using established guidelines.
• Create and update educational materials to support both patients and healthcare providers.
• Deliver virtual nutrition consultations in collaboration with Pigia Penda and local medical centres.
• Assist in promoting the clinic’s nutrition programs in Nairobi and expanding its reach in the community.
• Perform additional duties as required, in alignment with Penda’s values and mission.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics from a recognized institution.
• At least 2 years of experience working in a clinical nutrition or healthcare setting.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for patient education and community wellness.
