Job Description

The Plumbing Trainer will be responsible for delivering high-quality, hands-on training in plumbing systems, maintenance, installations, and safety practices. The ideal candidate will have a combination of teaching experience and real-world industry skills. You’ll work closely with students to help them master both theory and practical competencies required in the field of plumbing and pipefitting.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver well-structured lessons in plumbing systems, techniques, tools, and safety procedures.
• Conduct practical training sessions and workshops to enhance hands-on skills in installations, repairs, and system diagnostics.
• Develop and implement training plans, course outlines, and instructional materials in line with national and institutional standards.
• Assess student progress through assignments, practical exams, and competency-based evaluations.
• Maintain workshop tools and ensure safe use of plumbing equipment during training sessions.
• Support students in career development by providing industry insights and technical mentorship.
• Participate in curriculum reviews and contribute to continuous improvement in plumbing education delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma in Plumbing or a related technical field from a recognized institution.
• Diploma in Technical Education or Pedagogy qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years of proven teaching or instructional experience in a technical or vocational institution.
• Practical field experience in plumbing installations and maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Education, Construction, or a related field (highly encouraged).
• TVETA trainer registration or ability to obtain one.
• Familiarity with competency-based education frameworks (CBET).
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate learners in both theoretical and practical settings.
