Job Description

The PDQI Intern will support the Programme Development, Quality and Impact team in advancing high-quality programming and organizational excellence. Working under the Director of Programme Development and Quality, the intern will assist with planning, coordination, reporting, research, internal communication, and knowledge management. The role interacts closely with the ACCM team, MEAL staff, and technical specialists, offering a well-rounded experience for individuals seeking programme quality roles in Kenya or proposal development internships.

This position is designed to equip the intern with practical skills in programme development, quality assurance systems, data management, coordination mechanisms, and documentation processes—skills highly sought after in international development careers. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare programme documents, including work plans, implementation schedules, and reports.
  • Provide administrative support during meetings, workshops, events, and field activities.
  • Maintain the PDQI team calendar, travel schedules, planning tools, and leave management systems.
  • Organize and maintain updated hard and digital filing systems for easy access and data retrieval.
  • Track PDQI annual priorities and action points to support effective monitoring and implementation.
  • Update PDQI databases, SharePoint pages, and other internal communication platforms.
  • Support the development and refinement of programme templates, tools, trackers, and operational frameworks.
  • Conduct research and contribute to the development of advocacy strategies, programme design documents, and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Participate in PDQI meetings, taking notes and contributing where necessary.
  • Support ACCM initiatives related to communications, media, campaigns, and public engagement.
  • Assist MEAL and technical teams in uploading programme resources to SharePoint, TEAMS, and the Global Resource Centre.
  • Help coordinate knowledge-sharing events, communities of practice, webinars, and programme learning sessions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, International Development, Community Development, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in advocacy, social justice, and humanitarian issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, well organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite (added advantage).

  • Ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of humanitarian and development programming.
