Job Description
Reporting to the Relationship Manager – Business, the Relationship Officer – Personal Banking will be instrumental in driving loan growth, deposit mobilization, customer onboarding on digital platforms, and providing tailored insurance and financial solutions. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to clients and institutions, ensuring that their financial needs are met with efficiency and professionalism.
This role requires proactive customer engagement, strategic marketing, and close collaboration with internal teams to ensure seamless financial service delivery. Key Responsibilities
Customer Onboarding & Digital Integration
- Onboard new customers onto the bank’s digital platforms, ensuring smooth transitions and full functionality.
- Provide digital training sessions to enhance customer engagement and service utilization.
Client Acquisition & Institutional Marketing
- Conduct institutional visits and relationship-building with private institutions, NGOs, parastatals, and government bodies.
- Organize and participate in strategic marketing initiatives such as county-based drives and educational forums.
Credit Analysis & Loan Processing
- Facilitate loan approvals and ensure disbursements are done within the bank’s service level agreements (SLAs).
- Evaluate financial documents and risk profiles for customer and institutional loan applications.
- Prepare loan documentation for review by the Branch Credit Committee (BCC).
- Guide clients through the loan contract signing process, addressing any risks or terms.
Post-Disbursement Monitoring & Arrears Management
- Engage customers in timely follow-ups to manage loan repayments and reduce arrears.
- Conduct post-disbursement visits to ensure proper utilization and client satisfaction.
Customer Relationship Management
- Advise clients on suitable loan products tailored to their financial needs and objectives.
- Address customer issues promptly and follow through to resolution to ensure satisfaction.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers to promote loyalty and cross-selling opportunities.
Deposit Mobilization & Documentation
- Develop and execute strategies to increase customer deposits and support branch targets.
- Ensure all account opening and loan documentation are accurate and compliant.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field
- KCSE mean grade of C+ (with at least a C+ in Mathematics)
- 2–3 years of relevant professional experience
- Previous experience in sales or field marketing is a strong advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
- Project management or monitoring and evaluation experience
- Training or coaching experience, especially in financial services
- Fluency in both English and Swahili with strong report-writing skills
