Senior Manager, National Accounts Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Macroeconomics Statistics, the Senior Manager, National Accounts will be responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring activities within the National Accounts Division. The role ensures the production of accurate, timely, and internationally comparable macroeconomic statistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the design, collection, compilation, analysis, and dissemination of National Accounts statistics and related indicators.
  • Oversee implementation of surveys and census programmes related to National Accounts.
  • Coordinate production of Sequence of Accounts, GDP by economic activity, expenditure components, and GDP by income approach.
  • Lead sectoral analysis of economic performance, including Supply and Use Tables, Input-Output Matrices, and Social Accounting Matrices.
  • Coordinate analysis of international and regional economic performance.
  • Oversee generation and analysis of Gross County Product statistics.
  • Coordinate preparation of proposals and concept papers for technical development of National Accounts.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices, standards, and measurements under the UN System of National Accounts framework.
  • Coordinate production of satellite accounts in tourism, environment, and energy sectors.
  • Oversee compilation of institutional sector accounts including government, households, corporations, NPISH, and rest of the world.
  • Prepare and submit technical reports on assigned subject areas.
  • Ensure maintenance of statistical standards, methods, and data integrity.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop staff within the National Accounts Division.
  • Perform any other lawful duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • At least three (3) years’ service at the grade of Manager, Statistics or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Master’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks.
  • Strong ICT proficiency.
  • Demonstrated analytical, financial, and human resource management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
