Senior Programme Accountant

Job Overview

Amref Health Africa is seeking a Senior Programme Accountant to manage the financial aspects of their Global Fund grant. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities

• – Lead administrative, financial, and operational compliance for the program
• – Establish transparent accounting and fiscal control procedures
• – Ensure compliance with Amref policies, Global Fund regulations, and relevant laws
• – Accurately record financial transactions in the accounting system
• – Guide development, analysis, and monitoring of program budgets
• – Prepare and submit timely financial reports to the Global Fund and stakeholders
• – Conduct financial forecasting and variance analysis
• – Coordinate with grants management for sub-recipient financial reporting
• – Support internal and external audits and implement recommendations

Requirements

Education and Experience

• – Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• – Full professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA)
• – Master’s degree in a relevant field (advantageous)
• – 7+ years of experience in financial management, preferably with Global Fund grants
• – Demonstrated experience in budget management, financial reporting, and compliance
