Job Description

The Supervisor, Cloud Architecture and Technology Platforms is responsible for overseeing the operational management of KRA’s virtualization, storage, and backup infrastructure. The role ensures continuous availability, performance, and compliance of IT systems that underpin the Authority’s business operations. The successful candidate will lead infrastructure provisioning, upgrades, and monitoring while ensuring adherence to established technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setup, configure, and maintain virtualization (compute) and containerized platforms, storage systems, and backup infrastructure in collaboration with vendors and OEMs.
  • Conduct periodic upgrades of compute, storage, and backup infrastructure.
  • Implement audit recommendations related to infrastructure systems to maintain compliance and operational excellence.
  • Prepare detailed specifications for compute, storage, and backup platforms for procurement purposes.
  • Provision virtualization, containerized, and storage resources according to business requirements.
  • Restore and manage backups in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitor virtualized and container environments, storage platforms, and backup systems, resolving or escalating issues as needed.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of compute, storage, and backup systems.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management to ensure seamless IT operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related IT field from a recognized institution.
  • Certifications in virtualization, cloud, or system administration technologies such as VMware, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Red Hat, or Kubernetes.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in cloud or IT infrastructure management.
  • Technical proficiency in Linux or Windows system administration, server virtualization, storage management, and container orchestration.
  • Membership in a recognized professional IT body is an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing enterprise-level virtualization and cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of cloud security frameworks, backup strategies, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring and automation tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Job Description

The Supervisor, Cloud Architecture and Technology Platforms will report to the Assistant Manager, Cloud Architecture and Technology Platforms. The role involves managing day-to-day operations and maintenance of KRA’s virtualization and containerization infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability of business systems. This position supports strategic cloud operations and provides technical leadership in compute, storage, and backup management for mission-critical applications.

Ideal candidates will be experts in server virtualization, cloud platform architecture, and container orchestration, with hands-on experience in technologies such as VMware, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Red Hat environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, configure, and maintain compute (virtualization and containerized), storage, and backup infrastructure in collaboration with vendors and OEMs.
  • Conduct upgrades and system improvements for compute, storage, and backup environments.
  • Implement audit recommendations and ensure compliance within cloud and virtualization systems.

Required Qualifications

  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience in cloud, virtualization, or infrastructure management roles.
  • Professional certification in virtualization or cloud technologies such as VMware, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Red Hat, or Kubernetes.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body is an added advantage.

Preferred Technical Skills
