Position Overview:

The Video Journalist Intern role is designed for enthusiastic individuals looking to launch their careers in media production and journalism. This internship provides a platform to hone your skills, contribute fresh ideas, and work alongside seasoned professionals in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Content Creation:

• – Capture compelling footage and conduct engaging interviews for various projects
• – Develop story ideas and pitch concepts to senior team members
• – Collaborate with producers to create visually striking and informative content

2. Video Production:

• – Edit and produce high-quality video content using industry-standard software
• – Apply color grading, sound design, and motion graphics to enhance visual appeal
• – Ensure all produced content meets Switch Media’s quality standards

3. Technical Operations:

• – Operate studio, ENG (Electronic News Gathering), and OB (Outside Broadcasting) equipment
• – Assist in setting up and maintaining video and audio systems for various productions
• – Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise during live and recorded productions

4. Storytelling and Innovation:

• – Contribute fresh ideas to enhance storytelling techniques and audience engagement
• – Stay updated on the latest trends in video journalism and media technology
• – Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop innovative content strategies

5. Teamwork and Communication:

• – Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including writers, producers, and designers

Requirements:

• – Recent graduate or final year student in Media Technology, TV Production, Film Production, Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field

• – Familiarity with video and audio system design concepts and equipment
• – Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro)
• – Basic understanding of camera operations and lighting techniques
• – Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
