Job Details

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Master of Arts (MA) in Sociology or Development Studies from an accredited university.
- Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Development Studies, or a related field.
- At least two (2) years of relevant teaching experience.
- Registered or eligible for registration for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent doctoral degree.
- Membership or eligibility for membership in a relevant professional body (where applicable).
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in curriculum design, development, and periodic reviews.
- Prepare detailed course outlines for effective syllabus coverage.
- Develop and deliver course content to undergraduate, diploma, and certificate students.
- Administer exams, invigilate, mark, and submit progressive performance reports.
- Supervise student projects, dissertations, and participate in defense sessions.
- Engage in academic research, scholarly publishing, and conference presentations.
- Source and attract research funding to support departmental growth and innovation.
- Coordinate field trips, internships, and industry-based learning activities.
- Participate in official university meetings, functions, and administrative duties.
- Ensure student attendance records are accurately maintained and enforced.
