United Nations Internship programme

The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is offering internship opportunities for students and recent graduates looking to gain valuable experience in the UN system.

Eligibility:

You must be currently enrolled in at least the final year of your first university degree program OR enrolled in a graduate school program for a second university degree or higher. Recent graduates can also apply if they commence the internship within one year after graduation.

Internship Duration:

• Minimum 2 months, maximum 6 months

Program Objectives:

1. Provide students from diverse backgrounds exposure to the UN’s work and enhance their educational experience.
2. Allow UN offices to benefit from the assistance of qualified students across professional fields.

Participating UN Organizations:

• – UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT)
• – UN Environment Programme (UNEP)
• – United Nations Offices at Nairobi (UNON)
• – UN Dispute Tribunal, Office of Administration of Justice (OAJ)

1. All internship vacancies are posted on the UN Careers Portal (https://careers.un.org)
2. Apply online for any open internship vacancy of interest
3. Upload proof of current enrollment OR degree certificate if a recent graduate
4. Proof document must be on official letterhead/with official seal
