About the Role

The Wholesale Sales Executive will identify and develop new business opportunities among ophthalmologists, eye hospitals, optical shops, pharmacies, wholesale distributors, and other target customers. The position also involves managing existing accounts, analyzing sales performance, recommending replenishment orders, and introducing new product collections based on customer needs and sales trends.

The role requires close coordination with warehouse and finance teams to process orders, manage deliveries, maintain customer accounts, and support timely payment collection. The successful candidate will also explore opportunities in upcountry towns and regional hubs across Kenya.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Prospecting

• Research, map, and pitch to target customer segments including ophthalmologists, eye hospitals, optical shops, pharmacies, and wholesale distributors.
• Schedule and conduct face-to-face meetings and product demonstrations for high-end eye test equipment with eye hospitals and ophthalmologists.
• Identify potential wholesale pharmaceutical distributors to expand the distribution of contact lens solutions to retail pharmacies.
• Identify new market opportunities outside Nairobi, including upcountry towns and regional hubs across Kenya.

Account Management and Retailing Support

• Build strong relationships with opticians and optical shop managers to secure orders for frames, sunglasses, contact lenses, solutions, and diagnostic equipment.
• Analyze monthly customer sales reports to evaluate product movement.
• Recommend replenishment orders and introduce new collections based on sales trends to help prevent stock-outs.

Order Processing and Logistics Coordination

• Accurately book customer orders in SAP Business One (SAP B1).
• Coordinate with warehouse inventory teams to generate delivery notes.
• Oversee the end-to-end order dispatch process to support on-time delivery to customers.

Credit Management and Payment Collection

• Manage customer accounts operating under approved credit terms and ensure compliance with approved limits.
• For advance-payment customers, ensure payment is received and confirmed by Finance before goods are delivered.
• Conduct regular follow-ups to support timely invoice collection and maintain a healthy receivables portfolio.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: 3 to 4 years of proven sales experience.
• Medical Products Experience: Direct experience in medical devices or medical products will be an added advantage.
• ERP Skills: Hands-on experience booking orders and generating reports using SAP Business One (SAP B1) or a similar ERP system.
• Sales Competencies: Strong negotiation, consultative selling, and relationship management skills.
• Business Development: Self-driven with a proactive approach to lead generation and prospecting.
