Position Overview:

The Human Resources Associate will play a crucial role in delivering a full range of HR support services, ensuring accurate implementation of WFP policies and procedures, and facilitating the effective functioning of client-focused and strategy-oriented HR services. This position reports to the HR Officer and requires initiative, expertise, and independent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Payroll Management:

  • – Prepare and process end-to-end payroll for locally recruited staff, including various allowances and deductions
  • – Verify staff benefits and HR-related claims for accuracy and compliance with regulations

2. Contract and Benefits Administration:

  • – Monitor contractual status of staff and ensure timely contract renewals
  • – Administer conditions of service, contracts, and appropriate entitlements

3. HR Systems and Data Management:

  • – Maintain data integrity in Workday and WINGS
  • – Conduct data analysis to support process improvements and informed decision-making

4. Client Support and Query Resolution:

  • – Respond to HR queries from managers and staff, ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures
  • – Provide guidance on HR-related systems and processes

5. Onboarding and Talent Management:

  • – Facilitate efficient onboarding of new staff
  • – Support recruitment, retention, and development initiatives

6. HR Operations and Reporting:

  • – Contribute to HR operational initiatives and projects aligned with business needs
  • – Prepare accurate and timely HR reports for stakeholders

7. Process Improvement:

  • – Identify evolving organizational needs and recommend changes to HR processes and procedures

Requirements:

Education:

  • – University degree in Human Resources, Administration, or a field relevant to international development assistance

Experience:

  • – Minimum of six years of progressively responsible work experience in HR or related administrative roles
  • – Experience in WFP HR services operating standards across international humanitarian contexts preferred

Skills and Knowledge:

  • – Proficiency in HR management systems (e.g., Workday, WINGS)
  • – Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • – Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • – Experience in training new staff members and supporting with ad hoc queries
  • – Knowledge of international HR practices and UN system regulations is an advantage

Language:

  • – Fluency (level C) in English is required
  • – Knowledge of other UN languages is an asset
