Job Description
The Administration Officer II/Insurance is an entry and training-grade role designed for degree holders. Reporting to the Principal Administration Officer (Job Grade CA 5), the officer will provide essential support in insurance administration for both staff and the Authority. This includes managing insurance claims, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation, and providing timely insights for risk and budget management. The role also involves staff support, policy renewal coordination, and general administrative duties to facilitate efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process insurance claims for staff and the Authority, including general, motor, group life, and travel insurance.
- Assess and validate submitted documentation for completeness and accuracy before submission to brokers or underwriters.
- Monitor claims status, ensure timely resolution, and escalate delayed or complex claims as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date claims records and insurance databases.
- Provide staff education on insurance coverage, entitlements, and claims processes.
- Support the annual insurance policy renewal process by compiling data and liaising with brokers, underwriters, and the Supply Chain Management Department.
- Provide insurance data insights to inform budgeting, risk management, and staff wellness initiatives.
- Respond to staff inquiries on insurance coverage, claims procedures, and benefits.
- Support onboarding of new employees by orienting them on available insurance benefits and claims procedures.
- Process payments for outsourced services and utilities as required.
- Safeguard administrative files and maintain proper storage systems.
- Perform any other administrative duties assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science/Governance, BCom Finance, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in Computer Applications, demonstrating proficiency in IT and office software.
- Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, including ethical standards and integrity.

- Research and analytical proficiency to support insurance claims and reporting.
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
