The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Regional Advocacy Consultant for their Central Africa Region. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead advocacy efforts and drive positive change in humanitarian and development sectors.

Position Overview:
The Regional Advocacy Consultant will develop and implement an advocacy strategy for the Central Africa Region, providing strategic guidance and support at country and regional levels.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Advocacy Strategy Development
- – Lead regional advocacy strategy and messaging
- – Develop policy positions and advocacy plans
- – Support country-level influence efforts
2. Internal Collaboration
- – Facilitate information sharing across programs
- – Serve as primary point of contact for internal communications
3. Policy Engagement
- – Develop regional and country-specific policy agendas
- – Produce analysis and position papers
4. Communications
- – Oversee production of external reports and materials
- – Contribute to press releases and regional products
- – Organize visibility-enhancing events
5. Spokesperson Role
- – Provide briefings to key stakeholders
- – Engage with international and regional media
6. Advocacy Engagement
- – Participate in regional and national dialogues
- – Maintain relationships with external stakeholders
Key Deliverables:
- – Detailed workplan and revised deliverables list
- – Assessment report on regional advocacy opportunities
- – Report on existing advocacy initiatives
- – Structured database for advocacy information
- – Full Advocacy Strategy for Central Africa region
- – Detailed advocacy work plan
- – Awareness-raising resources (brochures, fact sheets, etc.)
- – Communication and advocacy meeting reports
Requirements:
- – Fluency in French and English (oral and written)
- – 5-7 years experience in humanitarian, development, or foreign policy in Africa
- – Proven advocacy and communications experience
- – Excellent research, writing, and networking skills
- – Knowledge of humanitarian systems and Central Africa context
- – Understanding of international relief and development issues
- – Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- – Proactive and able to work independently and in teams
