Assistant Conservation Monitoring Coordinator

Space for Giants is hiring for the Assistant Conservation Monitoring Coordinator position in Nanyuki. This is a full time, entry level role. Qualification level: Bachelors; experience: 0 – 4 yrs. Space for Giants is an international conservation organisation that protects the great wildlife landscapes that Africa's remaining elephants need to survive and thrive.

These landscapes give homes to giants, but they also bring great value to people and nations: biodiversity, livelihoods and enterprise, new medicines, carbon storage, even the very oxygen we breathe.

Position Summary

Key responsibilities

• Support the collection, cleaning, storage, and verification of ecological, spatial, and social data from multiple project streams.
• Ensure data integrity and consistency before submission to programme teams.
• Maintain organized cloud-based data repositories.
• Develop, update, and maintain interactive web maps, ArcGIS Dashboards, and ArcGIS Story Maps to visualize conservation impact, wildlife activity, and programme progress for internal and external audiences.
• Conduct spatial data processing, mapping, and basic analysis using ArcGIS Online / ArcGIS Pro.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Wildlife Conservation, Environmental Science, Geography, GIS, IT, Community Development, or a related field.
