Permanent & Pensionable after successful completion of a six (6) months probation period.
Remuneration:
As per the KRA salary structure.
Job Summary
The jobholder will be responsible for technical support and enhancement of existing business systems in the Customs & Border Control domain. They will ensure systems are reliable, effective, and tailored to business requirements. The role also involves supervising change implementation and guiding teams to achieve IT operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical teams in troubleshooting complex system issues and providing reliable integration solutions.
- Supervise the implementation of approved System Change Requests (SCRs) and ensure timely resolution of complex system incidents.
- Oversee documentation and review of Business Requirements Specifications (BRS) and Business Use Cases (BUCs).
- Validate System Use Cases (SUCs) for accuracy and completeness and present for management approval.
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess viability and cost-effectiveness of proposed system solutions.
- Develop and review high-level system design models and present recommendations to management.
- Participate in inter-departmental taskforces and IT steering committees on system-related initiatives.
- Provide frontline support to end-users on technical issues and deploy standardized, efficient solutions.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, ICT, Business IT, Computer Forensics, Digital Forensics, or a relevant equivalent from a recognized institution.
- At least four (4) years of relevant professional experience, with one (1) year at supervisory level.
- Completed a Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks (advantageous).
- Proficiency in computer applications and IT systems.
- Membership in a relevant professional body, where applicable.
- A valid practicing license, if required in the field.

- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Customer-centric with professional ethics and integrity.
Technical Competencies and Certifications
- Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) – preferred.
- Knowledge of Systems Modelling and Design Techniques.
- Expertise in Process Modelling and Design Tools.
