Job Description

The Business Performance Manager – Premium Spirits will provide financial leadership and commercial insights that enable effective decision-making and sustainable business growth within the Premium Spirits category. This role partners closely with the General Manager, Finance, and Commercial teams to develop strategies that optimize revenue, strengthen market presence, and guide strategic investments in Kenya and beyond.

This position requires a balance of financial expertise, analytical depth, and commercial acumen, contributing directly to Diageo’s long-term strategic goals. The role plays a vital part in modeling financial scenarios, evaluating growth initiatives, and ensuring the business maintains agility in a dynamic market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Growth: Lead financial elements of strategic planning; develop models for new markets and expansion; evaluate partnerships; and support the 3–5-year strategic roadmap through comprehensive financial analysis.
  • Commercial Performance: Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to refine pricing and promotional ROI; analyze channel profitability; and identify new revenue streams and business models for premium spirits growth.
  • Business Development & Investment: Build business cases for strategic investments; assess ROI for marketing initiatives; support product launches; and provide financial insight during contract negotiations.
  • Performance Analysis & Insights: Design and monitor commercial KPIs; create performance dashboards; analyze market share and competitive trends; and coordinate integrated reporting processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA(K), or equivalent).
  • At least seven (7) years of progressive finance experience, with significant commercial exposure.
  • Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, forecasting, and performance analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in FMCG or the beverage/alcoholic drinks industry.
  • Knowledge of route-to-market and trade channel dynamics.
  • Exposure to international markets and strategic transformation projects.
  • Background in mergers, acquisitions, or corporate development.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing ability.
