Key Responsibilities

Economic Analysis and Research

  • – Lead socioeconomic assessments of refugee and host communities
  • – Design and implement research projects with partners
  • – Analyze large datasets using advanced statistical software
  • – Prepare technical reports and policy recommendations
  • – Support integration of refugees into national surveys

Project Management

  • – Coordinate with World Bank, KNBS, and other partners
  • – Oversee data collection and quality assurance
  • – Manage research partnerships and stakeholder relationships
  • – Support the Refugee Resource Centre (RRC) initiatives
  • – Guide implementation of the Shirika Plan and related programs

Knowledge Production and Capacity Building

  • – Generate in-depth knowledge products
  • – Prepare economic briefs and policy notes
  • – Deliver training and capacity building activities
  • – Contribute to funding proposals and research partnerships
  • – Support academic engagement in refugee research

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • – Advanced degree in Economics, Statistics, or related field with 5 years experience, OR
  • – Bachelor’s degree with 6 years experience, OR
  • – Doctorate degree with 4 years experience

Technical Skills

  • – Proficiency in statistical software (R, Stata)
  • – Advanced data analysis capabilities
  • – Project management expertise
  • – Strong research methodology knowledge
  • – Excellence in technical writing

Professional Experience

  • – 6+ years in economic analysis and research
  • – Experience with international financial institutions
  • – Proven track record in data collection and analysis

Desirable:

  • – Knowledge of displacement and development issues
  • – Experience in poverty modeling
  • – Humanitarian-development nexus expertise
  • – Private sector engagement background
  • – Applied development economics experience

Language Requirements

  • – Fluent English required
  • – Additional UN languages beneficial
  • – Knowledge of local languages advantageous
