Job Purpose
The Environmental, Social Governance & Reputational Risk Manager will focus on ESG risk due diligence, capacity building, and financial mobilization for new and existing clients. The role includes deposit and green finance loan growth, implementing sustainability risk frameworks, and ensuring compliance through data analytics. The manager will oversee ESG policy development, vendor risk assessments, and follow-up on action plans to integrate sustainability into financial operations while adhering to regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Environmental and Social Risk due diligence, including desk-top and site visit assessments for client facility and loan requests.
- Lead staff training and ESG capacity building for business teams to enhance sustainability practices.
- Drive deposit growth and green finance loan portfolios by identifying opportunities during ESG assessments.
- Implement and monitor Sustainability Risk Management Frameworks and Procedures in line with organizational objectives.
- Support ESG data analytics for compliance, internal reporting, and external reporting purposes.
- Identify and manage sustainability opportunities uncovered during client and vendor assessments.
- Contribute to ESG policy, procedural tools, and implementation strategies across the organization.
- Support vendor onboarding with Environmental & Social risk assessments and follow-up on ESG action plans.
- Handle administrative duties efficiently to support ESG integration into operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Social Sciences; Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Professional certifications preferred, including GARP Sustainability & Climate Risk Specialist, ESG Specialization (CFI), or UNEP Nature-Based Solutions for Disaster and Climate Resilience.
- 3–4 years of banking experience, with at least 3 years in a similar ESG or sustainability risk role.
