About the Role

The HOS – Irrigation & Crop Protection will plan, coordinate and supervise irrigation and crop protection activities within the Summer Flowers Division. The position will focus on maintaining optimum crop health, efficient use of water and fertilizer, effective pest and disease management, production targets and compliance with relevant quality, health, safety, environmental and certification standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement irrigation, fertigation and crop protection programs.
• Monitor pest and disease levels and coordinate timely interventions.
• Analyse scouting data and recommend appropriate crop protection measures.
• Supervise irrigation and spray teams to ensure efficient execution of activities.
• Ensure proper calibration, maintenance and operation of irrigation and spray equipment.
• Monitor water usage, fertilizer application and the effectiveness of crop protection activities.
• Enforce compliance with health, safety, environmental and certification standards.
• Maintain accurate operational records and prepare relevant reports.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Crop Protection, Agronomy or a related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in crop protection and irrigation management on a commercial horticultural farm, preferably in summer flowers.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation systems and fertigation.
• Strong knowledge of crop protection products and Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving abilities.
