Kenya Red Cross, a leading broadcast company in Kenya, is seeking a talented and motivated Broadcast IT Intern to join their dynamic team. This exciting opportunity offers hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of broadcast technology and studio operations.
About the Role
The Broadcast IT Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the technical operations of TV studio technology while gaining invaluable experience in broadcast IT systems and live production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Studio Operations & Technical Support
- – Support daily TV studio operations and maintenance of broadcast technology
- – Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to minimize downtime
- – Provide emergency technical support during live broadcasts
- – Collaborate with studio technical supervisors on complex technical challenges
IT & Broadcast Systems
- – Deliver efficient IT helpdesk support for broadcast-related issues
- – Assist in maintaining and testing broadcast equipment
- – Support the implementation of new broadcast technologies
- – Help integrate and maintain video/audio systems
- – Participate in routine system checks and improvements
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- – Work closely with editorial and creative teams to provide technical solutions
- – Support live broadcast operations
- – Assist in media storage and archiving processes
Required Qualifications:
Education
- – Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in:
- – Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- – Computer Science
- – Broadcast Technology
- – Related technical field
Technical Knowledge
- – Understanding of broadcast technology fundamentals
- – Familiarity with video/audio systems
- – Knowledge of file formats and compression techniques
- – Basic network administration concepts (LAN/WAN)
- – Proficiency in Windows/Linux environments
Added Advantages
- – Relevant certifications in:
- – Network administration
- – Server management
- – Broadcast systems
- – Experience with non-linear editing software
- – Previous exposure to TV studio operations
