Position Overview:

The Engineering Graduate Trainee will participate in Kenya Airways’ comprehensive Graduate Trainee Training Programme, designed to equip candidates with the professional and technical skills necessary to excel in engineering services within the aviation sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undergo and successfully complete basic aircraft maintenance courses

• Engage in hands-on maintenance tasks during on-the-job training attachments

• Collaborate with and support experienced engineers in various assignments and projects

• Shadow aircraft maintenance and support area operations to gain practical insights

• Contribute to group projects supporting engineering and maintenance activities, utilizing project management principles

• Build a strong professional network through participation in additional activities and events

• Work closely with experienced engineering teams throughout the training cycle

• Develop skills across multiple engineering disciplines in a maintenance environment, including proficiency with MRO software

• Familiarize yourself with Kenya Airways’ Flight Operations and Ground Operations departments

• Undertake additional training-related duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Engineering Degree (upper second-class honors or above) in one of the following disciplines:

• – Aeronautical Engineering
• – Electrical Engineering
• – Electronics Engineering
• – Mechatronics Engineering
• – Mechanical Engineering
• – Related engineering discipline

• Degree must be from a recognized institution

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a busy engineering environment

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Relevant internship and academic project experience

• Self-motivation and ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction

• Passion for Kenya Airways and the aviation industry

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

• Proficiency in technical report writing

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
