Position Overview: Manager – Revenue Assurance & Fraud
The Manager – Revenue Assurance & Fraud reports directly to the Chief Manager – Data Science. The role is permanent and pensionable, subject to successful completion of a six-month probationary period. Remuneration is aligned with the KRA salary structure and benefits package.
Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this managerial role is to lead data-driven initiatives focused on fraud detection and revenue assurance. The manager will ensure tax process integrity, compliance with tax policies, and mitigate revenue leakages through advanced analytics and innovative technology.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement predictive analytics models to support real-time fraud prevention and detection.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in fraud detection, risk analytics, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Formulate strategic frameworks for fraud analytics and revenue risk assessment.
- Lead and oversee revenue assurance and fraud detection initiatives across the organization.
- Collaborate closely with tax compliance and enforcement teams to mitigate risks and apply machine learning models in fraud analysis.
- Monitor, evaluate, and optimize the performance of fraud detection systems and algorithms.
- Enhance fraud intelligence through data visualization, dashboard reporting, and actionable insights.
- Develop and deploy Artificial Intelligence (AI) models to identify anomalies in tax compliance.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen fraud management efforts.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential revenue leakages and fraudulent transactions.
- Provide training, mentorship, and capacity building on fraud analytics methodologies within the team.
- Ensure adherence to compliance, risk management, and data governance policies.
- Prepare and manage budgets for the Revenue Assurance & Fraud Analysis function, including proper accounting for imprests.
Who Should Apply? – Candidate Requirements and Qualifications
KRA is seeking candidates with a strong background in data science, fraud management, and revenue assurance. Ideal candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related field.
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline will be considered an added advantage.
- Professional certifications in Fraud Management, Revenue Assurance, or Data Analytics are highly desirable.
- Completion of a recognized Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks is an advantage.
Experience
- At least five (5) years of relevant work experience in a similar role.
- Minimum of two (2) years at Assistant Manager level or an equivalent position.
- Experience in tax administration and revenue collection analytics is a strong plus.
- Membership of a recognized professional body, where applicable.
