Full Time Trainer in Community Health Job Description

The Full Time Trainer in Community Health hiring supports delivery of accredited Community Health programmes at the Malindi and Nakuru Centres. The role focuses on curriculum implementation, student assessment, and practical instruction aligned with the CBET framework and TVET Act requirements.

This position is suited for candidates seeking community health training jobs in Kenya who are passionate about mentoring trainees, supervising practical learning, and contributing to curriculum development. The trainer will ensure compliance with regulatory standards while maintaining high-quality teaching and learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and teach assigned units in line with the approved curriculum and course outline.
  • Develop learning materials and maintain professional records to monitor student progress, achievement, and attendance.
  • Create individualized learning plans to support diverse trainee needs.
  • Assess student work and monitor performance outcomes.
  • Participate in course review processes and adapt delivery methods to enhance learner engagement.
  • Examine and mark Continuous Assessment Tests (C.A.Ts) and end-of-term assessments, uploading marks to the MIS system.
  • Deliver practical instruction and maintain trainees’ portfolios of evidence.
  • Supervise students during assessments and practical sessions.
  • Contribute to development and implementation of a high-quality curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in health training within a similar institution.
  • Knowledge of the TVET Act 2013 and Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) curriculum.
  • Valid Technical Trainer Registration by TVETA.
  • Strong organizational and instructional skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supervising practical health training sessions.
  • Proficiency in maintaining academic records and using MIS platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learner needs.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
