Job Description

The Procurement Lead will be responsible for managing and executing the entire procurement lifecycle — from demand planning and supplier identification to contract negotiation and vendor performance monitoring. The role requires someone who can provide strategic direction while ensuring operational compliance, audit readiness, and value-for-money procurement practices. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full procurement lifecycle including planning, sourcing, tendering, contracting, and supplier performance management.
• Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with internal departments to forecast procurement needs, establish procurement schedules, and monitor purchase execution.
• Manage vendor relationships through the creation and maintenance of a pre-qualified suppliers database.
• Oversee RFQs, tendering processes, and bid evaluations to ensure transparency and ethical procurement practices.
• Negotiate contracts, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and pricing structures to secure favorable terms.
• Track and analyze procurement metrics, identify cost-saving opportunities, and manage procurement budgets.
• Ensure procurement documentation is accurate, up to date, and ready for both internal and external audits.
• Stay informed of market trends and supply chain developments that may impact procurement strategies.
• Support strategic and capital projects by ensuring timely availability of goods, services, and materials aligned with project timelines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of progressive procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Registered and in good standing with the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with procurement frameworks, RFQs, tenders, and compliance protocols.
• Demonstrated proficiency in:
  • Strategic sourcing and category management
  • Vendor selection and performance evaluation
  • Negotiating contracts, pricing, and service-level agreements (SLAs)
  • Procurement planning, budgeting, and analytics
  • Using ERP procurement modules (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, CPSP).
• Experience working in a real estate development or infrastructure company.
• Familiarity with Kenyan Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act (PPADA) guidelines.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive procurement transformation initiatives.
• Strong analytical skills and a strategic mindset toward sourcing and vendor optimization.
