The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Kenya is seeking a highly skilled Project Coordinator to oversee the KOICA-funded multi-country project ‘Empowering Livelihoods and Economic Vitality in Fragile and Conflict Zones (ELEVATE) Africa’.

Key Responsibilities:

  • – Manage project implementation, ensuring compliance with IOM policies and donor requirements
  • – Monitor project progress and undertake corrective actions as needed
  • – Implement effective Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning practices
  • – Recruit, train, and manage core project staff
  • – Establish partnerships with government entities, UN agencies, and other stakeholders
  • – Prepare regular project reports for donors
  • – Develop new projects addressing needs of displacement-affected communities
  • – Ensure high-quality visibility and promotion of the project
  • – Integrate resilience-building approaches, gender considerations, and conflict sensitivity in programming
  • – Oversee KOICA requirements including planning, monitoring, reporting, and documentation

Requirements:

  • – Master’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, or related field with 5 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of experience
  • – Professional experience in livelihood and economic empowerment, WASH, climate change, and migration with UN agencies or international organizations
  • – Proven project management and development skills
  • – Experience in establishing partnerships with government counterparts, donors, and international organizations
  • – Working experience with KOICA is a strong asset
  • – Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • – Knowledge of project management principles and M&E practices
  • – Resource management skills and familiarity with budget administration
  • – Fluency in English required; working knowledge of Korean highly desirable, Swahili an advantage
