Job Description

The Security Operations Centre (SOC) Analyst (Business Analyst 1) will be part of the Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) team responsible for monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats in real time. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cyber Security Operations, the role provides 24×7 eyes-on-glass security monitoring services to ensure business continuity and protection of CBK’s digital environment.

The role holder will work on shift to perform continuous monitoring, incident analysis, investigation, containment, and escalation of security incidents. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform 24×7 real-time monitoring of security alerts generated by security solutions deployed across the Bank’s environment.
  • Analyze security alerts and events to determine validity, severity, and potential business impact.
  • Assess incidents and escalate confirmed threats to Level 2 and Level 3 analysts for deeper investigation and coordinated response.
  • Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents including malware infections, phishing attempts, insider threats, and data breaches.
  • Document security incidents, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Continuously review threat intelligence sources to stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.
  • Collaborate with other security teams and IT sections to coordinate incident response and remediation activities.
  • Contribute to continuous security improvement initiatives by tuning security tools, recommending policy enhancements, and supporting implementation of new security controls.
  • Support the achievement of CSOC objectives and contribute to the Bank’s overall cybersecurity strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field from a recognized institution.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in IT user support, operating systems, or network administration roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of IT networks and network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, Syslog, and NetFlow.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as CCNA, CEH, CISA, CISM, or other information security-related certifications.
  • Networking certifications including CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, CCIE, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of information security technologies including SIEM, IPS, firewalls, content filters, antivirus, encryption tools, and security scanners.
  • Basic programming or scripting experience using shell scripting, Python, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Experience in vulnerability assessment and implementation of minimum security baseline standards.
