Valuer – Credit Administration Role Overview

The Valuer – Credit Administration – Compliance & Documentation is responsible for supporting credit risk mitigation by reviewing, validating, and preparing valuation reports in line with approved methodologies and regulatory requirements. This role ensures the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of valuation documentation to support credit approvals, audits, and governance processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review valuation reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with approved standards.
  • Interpret valuation findings and provide professional guidance to credit teams and management.

  • Conduct property valuations and desktop reviews for expired or existing valuations.
  • Perform property inspections and market research to determine fair market values.
  • Prepare detailed valuation reports aligned with statutory, regulatory, and bank standards.
  • Ensure the application of appropriate valuation methodologies across all assignments.
  • Monitor real estate market trends and update valuation practices accordingly.
  • Maintain valuation records to support audit, compliance, and governance reviews.
  • Ensure all valuations comply with internal and external regulations.
  • Adhere to defined turnaround times (TATs) and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance valuation efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support training and capacity building for staff on valuation standards and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Land Economics, or Property Valuation from a university recognized in Kenya.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ professional experience in valuation.
  • Registered Valuer with the Valuers Registration Board (VRB).
  • Full member of the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) in good standing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate Diploma or Master’s degree in Property Valuation, Real Estate, Finance, or Risk Management.
  • Experience working within banking, credit administration, or financial institutions.
  • Strong exposure to collateral documentation and credit processes.
