Accountant

Zimele Asset Management is hiring for the Accountant position in Nairobi. This is a full time, mid level role. Qualification level: Bachelors. Applications close on 4 November 2026.

What You Will Do

Evaluate and improve accounting procedures to strengthen internal controls and enhance operational efficiency within the company.

Qualifications

Strong analytical thinking and numerical accuracy, with a keen eye for detail.

Effective supervisory and mentoring skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a high level of professional integrity and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• The accountant at Zimele will be responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, reconciling member accounts, monitoring cash flows and ensuring compliance with RBA and CMA regulations and internal controls
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements, to the required level of accuracy and standard.
• Manage general ledger functions, post and review journal entries, and promptly investigate and resolve account discrepancies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field with a specialization in Accounting or Finance from a recognized university.
• Holder of CPA K
• At least two (2) years of progressive accounting experience in a similar role, preferably within a, microfinance institution or regulated financial environment…
