Bookshop Manager

Catholic Diocese of Kitui is hiring for the Bookshop Manager position in Kitui. This is a full time role. Qualification level: Diploma; experience: 0 – 4 yrs. Catholic Diocese of Kitui is found in the ecclesiastical region of Kenya and it is within the Nairobi metropolitan.

It covers the whole Kitui County which is comprised of the following districts: Kitui West, Kitui Central, Lower Yatta, Nzambani, Mutitu, Mwingi Central, Mwingi West, Mwingi East, Kyuso, Mutomo, Mumoni, Tseikuru, Katulani, Mwingi West, Matinyani, Kisasi and Ikutha.

Research and recommend innovative business solutions to improve service delivery and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the bookshop, including sales, stock management, and customer service.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, oversee procurement and ensure timely restocking of items.
• Liaise with suppliers, publishers and customers, including diocesan offices, to coordinate the ordering, delivery and management of both incoming and outgoing stock.
• Develop strategies to increase sales and customer engagement.
• Provide supervision, guidance, and performance support to bookshop staff.
• Prepare financial reports, manage cash flow, and ensure accountability
