Safaricom is Hiring a Business Development Account Associate

Safaricom, Kenya’s leading telecommunications provider, is looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Account Associate to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving SME sales, revenue generation, and customer relationship management in the Nairobi and Coast regions.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Meet and exceed set revenue and acquisition targets.
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities in enterprise solutions.
  • Develop strategic relationships with customers to drive awareness and education on enterprise solutions.
  • Ensure robust sales pipelines to achieve revenue objectives.
  • Support regional and territorial teams in SME and retail sales channels.

Channel & Partner Management

  • Work closely with enterprise dealers, sales agents, and agency partners to achieve sales objectives.
  • Monitor dealer performance and maintain accurate sales trackers.
  • Develop and implement plans to drive billed revenue targets within the territory.
  • Identify and propose new growth opportunities for managed dealers.

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Profile businesses within the assigned territory and maintain an updated database.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive route plan for market coverage.
  • Gather and report on competitor activities, market trends, and potential business opportunities.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports on sales performance, customer feedback, and market intelligence.

Customer Engagement & Support

  • Foster long-term partnerships with customers and dealers.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and proactively address client issues.
  • Implement and track customer retention initiatives.
  • Activate alternative sales channels, including partnerships and agencies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Degree/Diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, or related field.
  • Experience: At least 3 years in enterprise solution sales (direct or indirect).
  • Licensing: A valid driving license (mandatory).
  • Skills: Business acumen, sales expertise, excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Industry Advantage: Experience in telecom indirect channel management is a plus.
