Business Development Manager

Transsion is hiring for the Business Development Manager position in Nairobi. This is a full time role. Qualification level: Bachelors; experience: 5 – 9 yrs. Transsion Holdings (Chinese:Â ä¼ éŸ³æŽ§è‚¡; pinyin: ChuányÄ«n KònggÇ”) is a Chinese manufacturer of mobile phones based in Shenzhen.

It was the largest smartphone manufacturer by sales in Africa in 2017, and also sells mobile phones in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Latin America.

Its brands include phone brands such as Itel, Tecno, Infinix; after-sales service brand Carlcare; and accessories brand Oraimo.

It manufactures phones in China, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Bangladesh and recently in India.Job Description

Key responsibilities

• Drive commercial opportunities across advertising, pre-installation, app distribution, co-branded content, and data partnerships.
• Report to leadship regularly and ensure clear, effective communication between local market and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• 5+ years of experience in strategic business development, partnerships, or account management roles.
• Strong existing network within telco industry in Kenya or Tanzania — ability to connect with C-level/influential stakeholders.
• Fluent in English; Swahili is a plus.
• Experience with mobile ecosystem players (OEMs, app platforms, fintech, or VAS providers);
• Knowledge of advertising/monetization models (e.g., pre-install deals, media placements)…
