Role Summary – Data Analytics Internship in Nairobi

As a data analytics intern, you will support the transformation of raw data into actionable insights that influence key business decisions. You’ll gain exposure to data visualization, Excel analysis, and dashboard reporting, working closely with teams across technology, operations, and customer success.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in data cleaning, preparation, and analysis using Excel or Google Sheets (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs).
• Support the creation of visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Amazon QuickSight, or Google Data Studio.
• Help design and interpret reports that track key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive operational improvements.
• Participate in cross-functional projects to analyze usage trends, customer behavior, and performance metrics.
• Communicate analytical findings clearly and concisely in presentations and written reports.

Minimum Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong spreadsheet skills in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Familiarity with at least one BI tool (Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight, etc.).
• Excellent analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred / Bonus Skills

• Basic SQL skills (SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, GROUP BY) and ability to interpret data queries.
• Experience in designing or maintaining interactive dashboards.
• Academic projects, hackathons, or competitions that demonstrate practical data analysis experience.
