About the Role

The Engineer position is an entry and training grade for the cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer while supporting petroleum engineering activities and related projects.

The role involves collecting and recording petroleum engineering data, participating in drilling and engineering work programmes, supporting petroleum resource evaluation, measuring down-hole parameters and monitoring petroleum engineering equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect petroleum engineering data relating to drilling, production and reservoir performance.
• Record petroleum engineering information on drilling, production and reservoir performance.
• Participate in petroleum drilling and related engineering work programmes for designated projects.
• Support petroleum resource evaluation activities.
• Participate in the measurement and calibration of down-hole parameters, including temperature, flow rate and pressure of oil and gas.
• Monitor the installation of petroleum engineering equipment and facilities.
• Monitor the operation and maintenance of petroleum engineering equipment and facilities.

Required Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines from a university recognized in Kenya: Engineering, Petroleum Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering, or Technology (Chemical Engineering).
