Project Manager – Project Delivery

At Pula, we are radically restructuring agricultural insurance, using technology to insure the previously unbanked, uninsured, untapped market of 1.5 billion smallholders worldwide.

We work in eight countries across Africa and Asia, and in 2017 alone, we facilitated crop and livestock insurance cover to 611,000 farmers in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Malawi.

Key responsibilities

• The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring and delivery of the programme, ensuring that project activities are executed effectively, within agreed timelines and budgets, and in accordance with contractual obligations, client requirements and programme objectives.
• Develop and maintain project implementation plans, work plans, schedules, milestones and deliverables.
• Coordinate internal teams, implementing partners and service providers to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor progress against targets, identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Development Studies, Social Sciences or a related field.
• Professional project management certification, such as PMI, PRINCE2 or equivalent, is desirable.
• At least 8–12 years of relevant experience in project or programme management, implementation or delivery.
• Government relations: Ability to work effectively within client structures and manage institutional relationships professionally.
