Senior Actuarial Analyst Jobs in Kenya
The Senior Actuarial Analyst will support product development, actuarial pricing, financial modelling, and risk analysis to enhance business performance and strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will ensure actuarial outputs remain accurate, compliant with regulatory standards, and aligned with the company’s long-term financial objectives.
This position works closely with Finance, IT, Operations, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, and Distribution teams to deliver innovative insurance products while improving actuarial models and reporting processes. Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, pricing, enhancement, and launch of life insurance products.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new product opportunities.
- Prepare product proposals, business cases, and documentation for approval.
- Review and price new and existing insurance products to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully implement product initiatives.
- Monitor product performance, customer feedback, and profitability while recommending improvements.
- Ensure all products comply with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
- Validate and analyse actuarial data from multiple sources to support modelling activities.
- Develop, maintain, and document actuarial models using industry-standard tools.
- Perform mortality, morbidity, lapse, persistency, and expense investigations.
- Conduct scenario testing and sensitivity analysis to evaluate financial risks.
- Support IFRS 17 reporting and prepare actuarial reports for management and regulators.
- Perform capital modelling, solvency assessments, stress testing, and reinsurance analysis.
- Participate in audits while maintaining proper documentation and version control.
- Drive automation initiatives using actuarial software and analytical tools.
- Promote continuous learning, collaboration, and adherence to professional actuarial standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science.
- Progress in professional actuarial examinations with at least four papers completed under IFoA, SOA, or an equivalent recognized body.
- Minimum of three to four years of actuarial experience, preferably within life insurance.
- Experience in actuarial modelling, pricing, valuation, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of IFRS 17 reporting frameworks, reserving, and solvency reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical and statistical capabilities.
