Job Description

The Supply Chain Intern will play a vital supporting role in the Logistics unit, assisting with warehousing, fleet data analysis, procurement documentation, supplier management, and asset tracking. This position is designed to offer practical experience working with globally recognized systems and processes, such as TIM, ProSave, and SCI’s procurement workflow. The intern will contribute to key operations that ensure the timely delivery of goods and services across SCI’s Nairobi and field offices.

Key Responsibilities

Warehousing Support

• Assist with receiving goods and verifying quantities against delivery notes.
• Provide warehouse coverage during staff absence, including stock release, arrangement, and bin card updates.
• Support dispatch planning and stock movement updates in TIM.

Fleet Management Support

• Assist with processing incident/accident insurance claims.
• Support bulk procurement planning for fleet-related items such as tires.

Asset Management

• Tag new assets and update the asset register.
• Ensure staff sign asset issue forms and file documents properly.

Procurement & ProSave Support

• Assist in generating draft catalogues for ProSave upload.
• Compile fully signed FWAs for review and uploading.
• Support supplier registration processes in ProSave.
• Obtain quotations, complete bid analyses, and follow procurement thresholds.
• Process invoice payments through procurement checklists.

Documentation & Filing

• Ensure all procurement files, waivers, and contracts are properly filed.
• Organize asset issue forms, verification reports, and distribution lists.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or related field.
• 3–6 months experience in warehousing, logistics, or procurement.
• Completed an industrial attachment in a reputable institution.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Strong ethics, attention to detail, and results orientation.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
