Job Description
The Assistant Manager – Cloud Architecture & Technology Platform is responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of KRA’s compute, storage, and backup infrastructure. This includes overseeing provisioning, monitoring, upgrades, and ensuring compliance with established technical standards and audit recommendations. The successful candidate will lead initiatives that optimize IT operations, support business continuity, and enhance platform performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate setup and configuration of compute (virtualization and containerized), storage, and backup infrastructure with support from vendors and OEMs.
- Facilitate implementation of corporate initiatives including Audit, Integrity, QMS, and Risk Management as applicable to technology platforms.
- Plan and coordinate infrastructure upgrades for compute, storage, and backup systems.
- Prepare and review specifications for compute, storage, and backup platforms for procurement purposes.
- Provision virtualization, containerized, and storage resources according to business requirements.
- Respond to requests for configuration and restoration of backups as per standard procedures.
- Monitor virtualized, container environments, storage systems, and backup platforms for errors and warnings, resolving or escalating issues to the Manager.
- Manage day-to-day operations of compute, storage, and backup platforms and perform any other duties assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related IT field from a recognized institution.
- Certifications in virtualization, cloud, or system administration technologies such as VMware, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Red Hat, or Kubernetes.
- At least 4 years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of 1 year at a supervisory level.
- Technical proficiency in Linux or Windows system administration, server virtualization, storage management, and container orchestration.
- Membership in a recognized professional IT body is an added advantage.
- Management training/course lasting at least four (4) weeks is an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing enterprise cloud platforms and virtualization technologies.
- Strong knowledge of IT audit, risk management, and quality management systems.
- Experience implementing corporate IT initiatives across multiple technology platforms.
- Advanced troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
