Bandari Maritime Academy is inviting applications for the position of Business Development and Marketing Officer I to support business development, marketing and customer engagement activities. The role involves market research, product development support, promotion of BMA initiatives and development of content and marketing materials for the Academy’s products and services.

About Bandari Maritime Academy

Bandari Maritime Academy was established through Legal Notice No. 233 of 28th November 2018, with the mandate to develop academic and vocational skills and provide competent maritime human resources for a sustainable Blue Economy.

About the Role

The Business Development and Marketing Officer I will support activities aimed at promoting BMA’s core products and services and expanding engagement with customers, investors and the community. The role also involves collecting market information, supporting product development and contributing to digital and promotional content.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting and compiling information on youth-owned enterprises funded by BMA in domestic and regional markets.
• Participate in designing products that represent BMA’s core business.
• Assist in compiling information on prospective customers, investors and the community.
• Participate in organizing activities to market BMA initiatives.
• Provide input into the development of web content relating to BMA products and services.
• Assist in developing marketing materials that describe and promote the organization’s core products and services.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Business Management, Finance, Commerce or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant working experience would be an added advantage.

Benefits and Compensation

The position offers a basic salary of Kshs. 42,500 – Kshs. 80,000 per month, a house allowance of Kshs. 10,000, commuter allowance of Kshs. 12,000 and annual leave allowance of Kshs. 4,000. The position is offered on Permanent and Pensionable terms.
